Home Health Skincare Giveaway + Coconut Smoothie Bowl
I am always on the hunt for new clean skincare. I partnered up with Home Health Skincare, an affordable vegan-friendly line to do a giveaway (see how to enter below). The company uses natural fragrance derived from natural sources such as botanicals, fruits, nuts, and trees.
I don’t like using anything with synthetic ingredients on myself or my family.
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cup coconut milk beverage or preferred plant-based milk*
1 Tbsp. chia seeds
1/2 tsp. ground ginger
1 Tbsp. MTC oil or coconut oil
1 tsp. maca powder, optional
1 scoop plant-based protein powder or collagen powder
1 frozen banana
1 date, optional
1 to 2 cubes of ice, optional
Garnish Options:
1 tsp. bee pollen
1/4 cup coconut flakes
1 tsp. cacao powder
1/4 cup granola
1/2 cup fresh seasonal fruit like berries, cherries, and or persimmons. Tropical fruit like starfruit, coconut, or dragon fruit.
Instructions
Place all ingredients in a high-speed blender. If you don’t have one, let the banana defrost a bit or freeze in slices.
Blend about 30 seconds on high or until blended.
Drink as a smoothie or pour into a large bowl and place into a refrigerator for one hour or overnight. Top with toppings of your choice.
Chef Carla Notes:
- To make this smoothie green add one cup of packed greens such as swiss chard, baby spinach or kale. I like to freeze my greens.
- Want a boost of caffeine? Add 1-2 tsp. matcha powder.
This recipe was inspired by Home Health Skincare’s Almond Glow oil. I like to pretend I am at a fancy spa (and not running my kiddos to preschool.) If you’re in a rush, there is a straight-up smoothie version you can make since I know what life is like on the go.
You can make this in under three minutes, including clean-up time.If you want to get fancy with your smoothie bowl, I give you plenty of garnish options. The fat in the recipe will keep you full and give you energy for the rest of your morning. Want to make this green? I give you options in the notes.
I love using Home Health Skincare’s Almond Glow Oil. It’s one the things I look forward to after a long day with my two toddlers.
I put it on right after I take a hot shower. You could also add the oil to a hot bath or use it straight-up. It’s not greasy, so it absorbs right into your skin. It’s perfect for dry winter skin, but I also love using it in the summer. My grandma has used oil after her shower for ages. It’s one of my best-kept beauty secrets that always reminds me of her.
Want to try it for yourself? Enter my giveaway below for a chance to win the entire suite of Almond Glow oils (Almond, Coconut, Jasmine, Rose, Lavender and Unscented) plus one $100 SpaFinder gift certificate.

This is a take on classic raspberry dressing, hello 1990’s. It’s delicious when paired with seasonal veggies and fruits like tomatoes, cucumbers, and peaches; fresh herbs like mint or basil; and tender greens like butterhead lettuce. Serve the dressing mixed in or on the side like I do. Garnish your salad with fresh lime wedges for squeezing over the salad. Top with cheeses like feta or cotija. Add crunch with nuts or seeds like pepitas. Always remember to season your salad with salt and pepper. It makes it taste so much better!
