“I don’t want to raise consumers, I want to raise creatives. I want to raise people who contribute to the world, and not just consume everybody else’s contributions.”

— Sarah Copeland

I can’t wait for you to LISTEN to this podcast with Sarah Copeland. Put your headphones on and listen while you make one of Sarah’s recipes from her cookbooks or journal.

Sarah Copeland is an award-winning writer, tastemaker and curator of good living. She is the author of Instant Family Meals, Every Day is Saturday, Feast and The Newlywed Cookbook, and the host of the Food Network Series, Every Day is Saturday, which exemplify Sarah’s standard for gorgeous imagery, luscious recipes, and simple luxuries.

Our conversation starts with talking about working motherhood. She talks about her routine with her family, how they have a sit down breakfast everyday, and how it’s such a special time.

Sarah talks about her “power days” in terms of work. She uses a big calendar to breakdown day, and focuses on her top three things to get done. Her days are full of doing different projects but she only does things, if she can, “show up fully.”

Mentorship is very important to Sarah. She always has one to three young women that work with her to share + learn from her.

Being available + present to her family so important. She loves giving back in her local community, fellow entrepreneurs, and to her community in social media.

There are so many gems and delicious quotes in this podcast like this one:

Sarah was told this by Lucinda Scala Quinn, “People are going to come to you, and ask you when you leave (Real Simple Magazine) and you go and you live your life. They are to ask you how to do it. You are giving other women permission. To take your time make the steps that work for you to prioritize your family.”
